High total or LDL cholesterol and/or low HDL cholesterol are key risk factors for heart attack and stroke.

High blood pressure puts you at higher risk for a heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and blindness.

between 18.5 and 24.9

Being overweight (BMI = 25 to 29) or obese (BMI = 30 or more) is linked to health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, osteoarthritis and certain types of cancer.

* To calculate your BMI:

  • Multiply your weight in pounds by 704.5.
  • Divide the result by your height in inches.
  • Divide that result by height in inches a second time.
